.NET Programmer/Analyst

Job Summary

 

The .NET Programmer/Analyst will primarily support the development, deployment and maintenance of .NET-based applications.  This may include building entirely custom applications or customizing packaged applications.

 Minimum Qualifications

 

1.  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems OR Associate Degree/some college and equivalent work experience

2.  Two (2) years .NET development experience (C#)

3.  Three (3) years experience using SQL

4.  Knowledge of database design fundamentals and use of data modeling tools

5.  Good organizational abilities, oral communications, and interpersonal skills

6.  Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures and a commitment to excellence in customer service

7.  Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions

8.  Good technical writing skills and willingness to adequately document all work performed

9.  Knowledge and skills in systems analysis, systems design and information architecture

 

 Preferred Qualifications

 

1.  Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server

2.  Experience with ASP.NET WEB development

3.  Healthcare or insurance industry experience

4.  Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies like SCRUM

 

 Primary Responsibilities

 

1.  Primary responsibility for the support of applications and tools in .NET including installation, updates/patches, upgrades, coding optimization, and resource management

2.  Assist with administration, maintenance, development and implementation of legacy and new application designs

3.  Participate in a second-level support team when production applications are deemed to be a support issue, including cross training other team members in fundamental support to better understand and effectively assume responsibility when programmers are not available

4.  Review, program, test and apply changes and/or modifications to software applications

5.  Create design documentation necessary to code applications

6.  Create test cases necessary to unit test applications

7.  Ensuring code is optimized for performance – both .NET code and SQL queries

2.  Ability to work with users to define needs, coordinate development, and provide application training

3.  Stay current on technologies and methods regarding application development

 

 Performance Expectations

 

1.  Complete work in estimated time 80% of the time

2.  Complete development tasks with less than 15% rework necessary

3.  Ensure all code is reviewed by another party before being placed in production

4.  Ensure code taking over 8 hours is tested by QA 100% of time

5.  Ensure 100% of code is properly documented within the code and in external documents, if need be

6.  Compliance with development Service Level Agreement 80% of time
