The Computer Merchant, LTD is currently seeking a Mid to Senior Level Java Programmer to provide support for a Fortune 200 integrator in their facility in El Segundo, California. Position:Mid/Senior-Level Java Programmer Location: El Segundo, CaliforniaDuration: This is a contract to hire opportunity. Looking to convert to permanent employment after 3 months.Full-time hours Monday through Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week.Policies:Must be able to complete and pass both a drug test background investigation.Pay Rate: Open for Negotiation Basic Qualifications: 5+ years experience as a Java Programmer Principle Duties and Essential Job Functions: Senior level hands-on technical lead that will also do development. Experience with a Java MVC framework (e.g. Struts) running on a J2EE application server (e.g. Oracle AS) accessing a relational database (e.g. Oracle 10g) using an O-R framework (e.g. ADF). Database programming with PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, preferably Solaris. Experience with AJAX and Web Services. Do complete Architecture / Design for application, coding and databases for suite of Java / Oracle business transaction-oriented applications and data warehouse. Good at reviewing and mentoring the architecture, designs and coding of team members. Interface with Data Center Application Server and Database Architects and Administrators. Good Interpersonal and written skills to interact directly with customers. Self starter who keeps up with industry technology trends, but is realistic in applying technology. Other: Currently this suite of applications was developed using Oracle JDeveloper, Struts framework, Oracle BC4J data access components, web-services, AJAX, materialized views for the data warehouse, and CVS configuration management. Team will begin to move from JDeveloper to Eclipse development tool, from BC4J to JDBC data access, and from CVS to Anthill for configuration management. Nice to have would be experience with Windows C# design and coding, and experience with programming barcode / UID scanning devices.
