OBJECTIVE
Client is seeking to obtain two (2) Consultants to provide services as a Microsoft Active Directory Administrator. The Consultants will assist in planning, designing, implementing and supporting a recently established Enterprise Active Directory.
BACKGROUND
The Server Administration Group is a managed support provider of Microsoft Active Directory for various departments. Examples of applications that will be included in this Enterprise Active Directory are:
* Symantec
* GroupWise
* Data Warehousing
* Server virtualization project
* Instant Messaging control project
* SharePoint
* PAC Systems
This managed support comprises the administration of Active Directory, backup and recovery of those servers, database maintenance, security (including anti-virus/anti-spam tools), monitoring, and reporting. Managed support does not cover direct support for client software and user administration.
SCOPE
The Consultant shall provide the following:
* Second level support of respective servers and architecture in support of a large and distributed Active Directory infrastructure.
* Application and operating system tuning, provisioning strategy and execution, troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Maintenance of current Active Directory design; implementing recommendation of updates to this design by the Senior AD engineer.
* Backup and restore support of Microsoft Active Directory servers using Symantec back up Exec.
* AD management and monitoring tool set.
TASKS
The Consultants shall provide the following tasks:
* Coordination of normal backup and recovery procedures with Windows Server Administration team.
* Review of critical patch releases and recommendation to management the necessity of such patches.
* Recommend and implement modifications to the server environment, including troubleshooting OS and security issues.
* Monitor server-level access by both internal and external sources to assure secure enterprise systems.
* Execution of disaster recovery testing to ensure a recoverable AD environment.
* Streamlining of Microsoft AD user account provisioning.
* Integrate 3 rd party applications into AD per Senior AD engineer's specifications.
* User directory environment replication, population and updates.
* Creation and maintenance of Pac Systems, Fuji, McKesson, Phillips, GE and Olympus systems, procedure documentation, and knowledge transfer to Clients Microsoft Active Directory systems administration team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The Consultants must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Four (4) years experience within the last five (5) years with infrastructure engineering and support experience in a MS Active Directory enterprise environment supporting 3,000+ users.
2. Four (4) years experience within the last five (5) years engineering, implementing and supporting a Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure including Microsoft DDNS, WINS, Group Policy; Windows NTP.
3. Four (4) years experience within the last five (5) years of extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Architecture and Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server OS.
4. Four (4) years experience within the last five (5) years demonstrating a solid understanding of configuring and supporting Microsoft Windows OS technology including ADAM, Domains, Trusts, LDAP Directories, DHCP, DDNS, Group Policy, DFS and TCP-IP networks.
5. Four (4) years experience within the last five (5) implementing Microsoft security concepts in a multi-forest Active Directory infrastructure.
6. MCSE, MCSD, or MCT certification.
