Engineering/ Supply Chain Your Responsibilities: Establishes supplier and contract manufacturer plans and relationships. Responsible for optimized supply chain alignment across suppliers of all fabricated parts, OEM, electromechanical assemblies, and PC Assemblies for MR Monitoring products.Serves as technical/business focal point for materials engineering contributions in new product development, supplier selection, supplier process definition related to procured parts, components, materials, and subassemblies. Engages the relevant external parties (development services providers, contract manufacturers) for early review of new product designs starting at the early conceptual design phase. Facilitates manufacturing technology assessments involving key suppliers and contract manufacturers.Facilitates supplier-assisted Design for Manufacturing efforts across assigned commodities such as PC Boards, electromechanical sub-assemblies, fabricated parts including part and supplier selection for identification of supply risks and any appropriate contingencies. Ensures involvement of all key Contract Manufacturers in product/tooling design reviews, manufacturing "Process Compatibility" reviews, and joint supplier/SCM efforts for DFM issue resolution.Works with Philips Global Purchasing Commodity Management in the area of supplier selection, ensuring all relevant supply chain management considerations are addressed including proper handling of 3rd Party Contracts, Licensing and Intellectual Property Agreements.Ensures supplier alignment with MR Monitoring supply chain requirements with respect to volume/mix considerations, responsiveness, forecast variability, integration/consolidation levels, logistics/transportation considerations and other relevant constraints or objectives.Qualifies/releases all purchased items. Coordinates first article inspections. Generates new part Receiving Acceptance (RA) plans. Responsible for setting up new procured parts/material in eDMR/SAP. Ensures proper parts to lower level parts linkages, document linkages, supplier linkages, where-used linkages, country of origin handling, inspection rationale forms, and ER and MR data. Assesses new purchased parts/materials for impact relative to special handling or hazardous material requirements in warehousing and/or transport.Released Product Engineering AreaOwns and drives all purchased materials level issues that impact quality, cost and delivery. Initiates supplier contact for issue resolutions. Keeps Production Engineer current on materials issues that can impact product quality. Facilitates resolution of Receiving and Inspection issues. Dispositions incoming material rejects while coordinating with Purchasing for impact on part availability. Generates and manages supplier change notifications and supplier action requests. Processes Quality Notifications and Waivers. Coordinates rework activities with suppliers when necessary. Your Profile: BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical or other suitable engineering discipline, Master Degree preferred.Strong materials and manufacturing engineering background in specific commodities such as printed circuit assemblies, plastic molding, sheet metal, electronic component, electromechanical assemblies and OEM equipment. Experience in supplier management. General familiarity with production processes and production testing methodologies, process management, product reliability management, statistical techniques, product logistics/structuring and interface to factory management systems. Project management and communications skills important.
