Summary Description:
The manager for Teradata supplier business operations will act as the Business Operations management interface to the Teradata Development new product development teams. This role is responsible for managing the supply chain readiness and manufacturing transitions for product releases and end of life planning. In addition, this position manages a number of specific supplier relationships. The manager also interacts with the contract manufacturer to develop the sourcing plan for Teradata product offerings.
Work environment:
This position will report to the Director of Supplier Business Operations in San Diego, CA.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage global end to end relationship between Teradata Corporation and key enterprise system and storage suppliers
- Develop and execute performance improvement initiatives with suppliers in the areas of product delivery, quality, cost, and service
- Manage end of life activities for components and products as it relates to inventory and E&O
- Own the Intel Business relationship
- Drive product cost reduction through engineering component decisions, negotiation, and sourcing
Basic Requirements:
B.S. degree in Engineering, Operations or Business
5+ years experience with supplier management, procurement, or product/program management, preferably in an engineering environment
Proven track record of management experience and success
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good negotiation skills and experience
Proven Negotiation skills
Self-Starter with good initiative
Excellent Teaming skills
