Manager, I.S. Infrastructure
Job Summary
The I.S. Infrastructure Manager’s role is to lead the planning, design, implementation, and support of the organization’s I.S. infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and scalability in a high growth operating environment. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting and optimizing critical areas, such as the network infrastructure, server infrastructure, desktop computing environment, data communications, and telecommunications. This position will recommend and execute strategic solutions in accordance with planned growth. The Infrastructure Manager will also direct end user support activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, design, and recommend the overall logical and physical technical infrastructure for reliability, security, scale, and mobility.
- Implement, support, optimize, and monitor the technical infrastructure, including networks (LAN and WAN), servers, databases, desktops, and enterprise applications.
- Responsible for I.S. security. Develop and carry out I.S. security policies and programs according to security best practices and imposed compliance. Facilitate I.S. security audits.
- Lead and manage internal and external teams on I.S. projects and infrastructure upgrades.
- Create, optimize, standardize, document, and train processes that improve efficiency, security, and accelerate system and team performance.
- Assist in developing I.S. procedures and policies for areas such as change management, data retention, asset management, and electronic communications.
- Assist in the planning and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Establish and develop strong partnerships with technology vendors.
- Participate in assessing staff and technology needs, and contribute to the I.S. budget process.
- Provide ongoing status reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or technical related field.
- 6+ years experience in technology infrastructure, including design and implementation of large-scale solutions. 2+ years of prior management experience.
- Highly experienced in building, securing, maintaining, supporting and managing heterogeneous I.S. production environments, which includes the deployment and use of Microsoft tools and products like Exchange (2000 or later), ISA, and AD.
- Strong, in depth understanding of current operating systems (Windows and Mac), hardware platforms, networking, security, storage, backup, virtualization, and clustering.
- In depth understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of emerging technology solutions and industry trend.
