Business Week, March 2008Primary Purpose: This individual will oversee the development and support of the data warehouse and data mart environments at Coach. The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Information Systems to... Provide leadership/vision/direction in the overall architecture of the data warehouse for Coach. This responsibility will include: Developing and supporting data standards and models for the new subject areas. Determining approach and software to move data from our various data sources to the warehouse. Providing processes and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the data. Creating and supporting the policy and procedures around the access, update, and backup of the environment. Determining the archiving strategy of the data. Form a symbiotic partnership with the rest of the Business Intelligence team to ensure maximum scalability, usability and performance of Cognos over the data warehouse and marts. Responsible for the day-to-day systems support of all activities and projects related to the development, loading, and health of the Coach Data warehouse/mart environments. Work directly with the other management teams in IS and their business partners to define, scope, and develop projects that affect the content and delivery of content within the data warehouse. Champion the Data warehouse. Provide knowledge and understanding to the benefits of the environment and how best to utilize its content. Be the in-house expert of data warehousing concepts and industry direction to ensure Coach is optimizing its use of our critical information. Emphasize importance of one global environment to support our needs around the globe (e.g. America, Asia, Europe). Supervise and develop members of the data warehousing team as the organization grows. Keep abreast of new BI technology and techniques and their potential applicability within the organization.The accomplished individual will possess... 10 years systems design and implementation experience. 5+ years working with and leading data warehousing environments/projects, including data standards and modeling techniques, ETL tools, data quality procedures. 7 years experience in development using major RDBMS environments, preferably Netezza, Teradata, Oracle (PL/SQL) and SQL Server (SQL).An outstanding professional will have... Experience working with major BI tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion) is important. Experience with SAP R/3, its data model and extraction techniques is a plus. Experience with Essbase is a plus. Experience in retail industry preferred. College degree preferred.
