MS Access Consultant

 

Our fortune-100 client is looking for an MS Access engineer to work on a high profile project creating, converting and managing Access Applications.

 

Work includes:

-  Support existing applications - break/fix takes priority over all development

o Create/update documentation and support documents for existing applications.

-  Create new applications - owning the full lifecycle delivery of the application

o Working with other members of IT (network space, Oracle database creation, Citrix administration, other)

o Maintain application inventory and version control

-  Supporting and/or transitioning code to the other members of the team

-  Learning new tools that are available to help support internal workflow, etc

 

As this will entail a great deal of interaction with business users, excellent communications skills (verbal and written) are an absolute must.  The candidate will also need to learn quickly, act in a consultative manner in order to assist the business users with their problems, and have very good analytical skills.

 

 

Required Experience:

Candidates should have 2+ years experience in the following:

 

-  MS Access applications development – including VB, macros, as a ‘front-end’ to other databases in a distributed environment, run-time versions, Access in Citrix, security, user-administration

-  Business Analysis background

-  Database design – reading and creating entity relationship diagrams (ERD’s) SQL

-  Working knowledge of Oracle databases (which may be used as the back-end for some Access applications)

-  Writing documentation and test cases

-  MS Excel - including creating macros and complex workbooks

 

Desired Experience:

 

· basic HTML

· report design

· Proven track record of delivering quality products within aggressive timelines.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory guidance and assistance.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Attention to detail and good organization skills.
