Junior Operations Analyst

Under minimum supervision and using established procedures performs varied and somewhat difficult assignments related to scheduling and coordinating production files. Identifies and researches problems to determine better utilization of system resources and the impact on daily production cycle. Recommends process improvements to ensure systems usage and availability. Candidate must know the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures required for the field of specialization. Ensures procedures are followed and standards are met while tracking all jobs and maintaining the appropriate documentation.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates file transfers, automation, performance monitoring, and systems availability Develops analytical reports of computer utilization derived from reviewing system logs. Primarily concerned with the appropriate use of computer resources and ensures that client service expectations are met. Schedules and prioritizes system usage. Tunes procedures to improve run-time optimization. Performs problem determination and analysis and executes corrective activity. Accepts, reviews, and implements production procedures to ensure readability, restart ability and appropriate use of resources. Execute daily technical operations activities Provide excellent service as a first-point-of-contact for requests, questions, and problems Work with the Director of MIS Operations to collect data, perform critical analysis, and provide essential reporting for the business on the performance and functioning of the technical environment Participate in the implementation and support of new technologies Provide input and recommendations regarding service desk operations and technical operations improvements Maintain positive client relations; provide instructions and assistance to internal and external clients regarding available services, applications, delivery Coordinate software,  hardware, and application deployment, patches or critical fixes and problem resolution Manage special projects as assigned Thorough knowledge of concepts, techniques and practices of computer operations as applied to the operation of mission-critical enterprise and Web-based applications Ensure all changes to production systems are authorized, documented, and logged and follows a change request approval process Manage schedulers for all day to day operations scheduling including file i/o and escalate as necessary. Monitor systems, applications and network availability. Maintain system metrics. These metrics would include system availability, number of jobs run, number incidents, open unresolved issues, and other relevant metrics to ensure a quality IT operation. Schedule and runs all batch jobs and scripts in the Production Environment. Must have working knowledge and experience in MS Win2003 Active Directory, MS Exchange 2003, Project Management software and Contact Management systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of Credit Card acquiring business a plus Expertise with data management 2 or more years IT Operations Support experience Strong written and oral communication skills Any Microsoft Certifications (A+, MCP, MCSE) is desireable Candidate must be flexible to work hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary. Must have some knowledge of client server applications, including support and issue resolution.
