Jr Unix (RedHat) Systems Administrator

Task Description:  RedHat Administration is the major skill set needed. This person will be responsible for: (1) ongoing technical support for servers located in the Data Center as well as locations throughout the state (2) installation and configuration of technical systems (3) acting as third level support for operating systems, enterprise applications, server hardware and other technology (4) assisting customers with technical issues which prevent them from getting their jobs done (5) performing technical analysis on problems to provide the best overall solution Required Skills Must 5 yrs IT experience with a minimum of 2 yrs experience as a Unix(RedHat) Systems Administrator Experience with the installation, maintenance, and support of operating systems, communications software, data base packages, compilers, utility programs and related systems software.  Must be able to work with vendors and support staff to quickly diagnose operating systems, communications software, database software, or utility problems. Must be able to diagnose problems and incompatibilities that may occur with integrated software products and with hardware dependencies. Must have extensive background in installing, configuring, and administrating Unix, Linux operating systems including Sun Solaris, SUSE Linux and especially RedHat.  Must have managed the successful technical implementation of at least one major system project with a project life cycle of at least six months.  Experience using Veritas suite Must have hands-on experience with Tier 3 Unix System Administrator support including server maintenance and all related server equipment  Must have prior experience working in a dedicated Data Center environment to include large server farms, disk storage systems / SANs including data backup technology and large complex network systems with failover capability.    Must have strong technical knowledge of the RedHat/Solaris/Linux operating system including root commands    Location: Nashville, hv 37243 Salary/Wage: 43,000.00 - 57,000.00 USD /year Status: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: IT/Software Development Company: CIBER, Inc.
