Jr Unix Administrator

DSD Laboratories is seeking a Jr Unix Administrator to work in Huntsville Alabama.  The ideal individual will have experience witht he following:

· Designing, implementing, and supporting Linux, Solaris, Firewalls, load balancers, VMware (other virtualization) and SAN based solutions. General *NIX System Administration.

· Participate on project teams to integrate and deploy infrastructure as required.

· Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Internet technologies and sharing that knowledge with team members and business partners.

· Developing and executing test plans and managing the test environment.

· Provides problem resolution and root cause analysis as well as proactive reporting and analysis to support the infrastructure.

· Using a combination of Open Source and commercial solutions to complete projects.

· Evaluate software, analyze problems and recommend resolutions

· Design and optimize network topologies and site configurations

· Provide user orientation and direction

· Plan installation, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities (if required)

Conduct informal training sessions (as needed)

This individual will also have:

· Ability to perform systems design, deployment, and support of Internet facing technologies such as e-mail systems, web servers, name servers, and application servers

· Familiar with Storage Hardware and Fiber Channel Networking in a *NIX Environment

· Thorough knowledge of firewall and load balancer technologies (if telecommunications or VoIP is involved)

· Ability to perform reporting, analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting using tools such as Operating System utilities and hardware diagnostic utilities

· Ability to install and perform maintenance on server equipment located in a data center environment

Must have on year industry experience and a government security clearance.
