JRules Developer

MissionStaff currently has a consulting opportunity with a Philadelphia client who is looking for a seasoned JRules Developer to develop and upgrade rules for their Business Rules Management System.

Java-Rules Engine Developer

The J-Rules Engine Developer will work with the Business Solutions group to develop/upgrade rules for the BRMS (Business Rules Management System).Determine level of effort to implement new development, enhancements, bug fixes and production updates so that estimates can be provided to the Project Manager. Track and report actuals vs. estimates, escalate issues and revise as needed. Schedule and execute the design, implementation and unit test of new development, enhancements, bug fixes and production updates. Distribute tasks to junior developers and monitor progress. Document designs as needed. Troubleshoot production problems. Initiate promotion of code to test, staging and production environments through firm’s change control process. Participate in the requirements process. Assist in the creation and review of requirements artifacts such as use cases, UI prototypes, domain models, etc. Act as technical mentor for department engineers. Provide 2nd tier off-hours remote support. Developers may be required to carry a company provided pager or mobile phone.

Required Skills3+ years experience in software development in JRules and J2EE (EJBs, JMS messaging), working knowledge of database development (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures), XML technologies (XML, XSLT, Xquery), web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSPs, JSTL, tag libraries), and general communication standards (TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, SSH) 8-10 years experience using industry-standard vendor tools and open-source technologies such as BEA WebLogic Server, BEA Weblogic Workshop, Ant, JUnit, Struts, Hibernate or object relational mapping, Apache/Jakarta tools, Axis, Tomcat, Eclipse or comparable IDE, TogetherJ or comparable tool; and some exposure to Microsoft .NET. Experience with rule-based applications, preferably on the ILOG JRules, ART*Enterprise, or Blaze platforms. Experience with data modeling, database design, SQL and stored procedures. (Oracle Preferred). Experience with StarTeam, or other revision control system. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
