Fidelity Pricing & Cash Management Services (FPCMS) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing fund liquidity.
The FPCMS Systems and Solutions Delivery team provides core application development and support services for all FPCMS systems. The team works on technology-based projects in collaboration with other Fidelity systems divisions, customers, and custodian banks. The Director of Release Engineering position is based in Westlake, TX and requires management capabilities for a medium size team (10 - 15 staff members). The candidate will be responsible for matrix management of multiple resources across a variety of applications teams and possible cross-divisional matrix staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement vision, mission and detailed plan for the Release Engineering service
· Manages a team of 10 to 15 individual contributors located in India, NH and Texas
· Makes hiring decisions
· Recommends pay actions
· Establishes roles and performance goals
· Monitors performance and provides feedback
· Identifies developmental needs and provides development opportunities
· Regularly provides guidance and training to team members
· Resolves all project business and technical issues as they relate to Release Engineering.
· Manages all budgetary aspects including resources, hardware and software purchases, and professional services costs (when applicable), charge backs and client billing.
· Manage and may initiate (when necessary) vendors coordination
· Establishes project plans to manage staffing allocations for team members across multiple/competing projects
· Applies technologies, methods, and concepts to maximize functional/operational capabilities
· Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets
· Determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desired outcomes
· Ensures contingency activities are covered related to service availability
· Assesses on-going and future customer requirements and operational needs
Qualifications
General Knowledge/Skills/ Experience Required:
Experienced leader responsible for all aspects of Releasing Engineering for FPCMS. This person will be able to apply technologies, methods, concepts and process to maximize our Release Management capabilities. This leader needs to be able to integrate deliverables from multiple complex projects, define customer standards and service level agreements for release engineering services and ensures all customer needs are met and issues resolved or addressed and has formal accountability for financial management of the team and for the costs of the services they provide.
· Determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desired outcomes
· Demonstrated mastery of previous levels' skills and responsibilities
· Has in depth knowledge of Release Engineering industry standards, principals, and guidelines
· Works under consultative direction towards pre-determined long range targets and strategy with little or no supervision
· Advanced business, technical, and application knowledge preferred specifically in Source Code Management Tools and methodologies such as Clearcase, Subversion, PVCS, etc.
· Able to influence staff and non-direct reports across multiple projects and sub-portfolios within FPCMS
· Adept resource management allocation experience to handle multiple project level requests.
Education and Experience Required:
· Bachelor's degree
· 7-10 years of Release Management Experience
· 5+ years experience managing a team of people
