Information Technology Specialist I
Do you have the desire to learn web development and design? Would you like to receive on the job training to grow in the areas of web content management, web design, or graphic art? Do you enjoy working in a team environment?
Alameda County is looking for an entry level person to join our team to create, enhance, and maintain web sites. You must be able to communicate with coworkers/customers in a team environment to achieve results.
Job Duties:
This is an entry/trainee level position in a specialized, flexibly staffed four classification series responsible for entry level programming assistance. Under close supervision, you will:
· Learn applicable technology, language, or application to complete required tasks.
· Begin to familiarize yourself with existing websites and applications.
· Check all work for completeness and accuracy.
· Deliver excellent customer service.
Technical Requirements:
Beginning Knowledge of:
· HTML, CSS, Web Content Management, Fireworks, Dream Weaver, Flash, Photoshop, Javascript or other applicable language/technology.
· Basic knowledge of programming concepts, or aptitude for web/application development.
Ability to:
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Communicate technical details to programmers, vendors, users and others in an effective and understandable manner in order to achieve timely problem resolution.
Exercise judgment and initiative in identifying and resolving technical problems.
