Information Technologies Administrator (IT)

SUMMARY

Information Technologies has several areas of responsibility, this may cover the duties of Network Engineering and Administration, Systems Engineering and Administration as well as Technical Support. This individual may install, maintain, repair, administer and troubleshoot network equipment, Server hardware and software necessary for operation of Local and Wide Area Network. This person becomes a Jack-of-all-Trades when it comes to support, Setting up PCs, work stations, Problem Solving, internal Customer Service.

 

Duties and Responsibilities may include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Network Administration:Support for MS Windows 2000/XP/2003. Maintain application and utility software Network security, including establishing firewalls and administration of Windows Active Directory Accounts.  Provide periodic and ad hoc reports on the operation, performance, and access of server-based services Assists in the planning, development and deployment of future network expansions and upgrades.  Provide advice, counsel and information regarding the deployment of information technology to support the environment of the Company.Analyzes and resolves problems on complex computer applications and systems for staff across all departments; provides a wide range of in-depth technical assistance to staff. Provides on-call service for emergency network and server maintenance Plans and implements or assists in the implementation of systems and facility modifications and improvements. Coordinates and interacts with external contractors in the installation, commissioning and debugging of computer and network systems.

 Webmaster ArchitectManages and maintains internal and external web sites for the company, which includes installing and servicing the web site on a server and having the programming knowledge sufficient to create the content. Performing day-to-day site maintenance on all web sites, performing navigation and browser compatibility, performing quality-control for third party content, and maintaining and develop small web applications. Keeps up with developments in Internet technology and recognizes and recommends hardware and software improvements. Maintenance of the Intranet (Sharepoint Services) Company message board display screens. Keeps informed on security legislation that affects web site content.
