Yoh has a contract opening for an Information Security Architect ¾ in Largo, MD.Responsibilities include: • Analyzing complex information assurance requirements for the U.S. Census Bureau Field Data Collection Program, and architecting, designing, documenting, testing, configuring and implementing deployable solutions. • Includes close coordination with customers and design team members in the development of concepts and programs. • Develop functional and technical requirements, and allocate them to system components. • Certify and accredit (C&A) medium to highly-complex systems. • Work with Program Managers and Engineers to work-off liens and problem reports. • Design safeguards against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure for customer networks. • Research, evaluate, test, recommend and implement new security software or devices. • Create and present system engineering presentations and briefings to customers at their facilities.Requirements: • BS Degree or higher in computer science, systems engineering, or related engineering discipline with MS or higher preferred. • A strong knowledge of current commercial security products (firewalls, VPNs, SSL appliances, SSH, NIDS/HIDS, SIM) available; hardware/software security implementation; an in depth knowledge of TCP/IP and other communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools familiarity with COTS, GOTS, and current technologies. • Minimum of 7 years experience in overall CMMI-based systems engineering, including experience in the design and development of secure communication networks and systems especially as it relates to the overall protection of sensitive data. • Requires an interdisciplinary skill set including operating systems, network components, controlled interfaces, database design, standards, and reference architectures. • Experience with a variety of network topologies, including wired and wireless. • Experience with operations management of system, network, or infrastructure components and security controls. • Experience with validating system, network, or infrastructure components to ensure that the appropriate security profiles and policies are maintained. • Experience with determining system, network and infrastructure security requirements and controls against various industry guidance and best practices, including FIPS, NIST, DIAC/DITSCAP, IEC/ISO, and IEEE. • Experience with defining and enforcing information security policy. • Experience with supporting government certification and accreditation activities. • Experience with data center hosting environments and managed services providers. • Knowledge of COOP, disaster recovery, and mission assurance practices and principles. • Knowledge of CMMI-based system engineering processes. • Knowledge of defense-in-depth and other information security and assurance principle and associated supporting technologies. • Ability to conduct system, network, or infrastructure evaluations to determine alignment with functional and security requirements. • Excellent communication skills are mandatory, as well as, the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors. • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral form with the senior engineering management.Preferred Additional Skills: • Certificates desired: SANS, CCSP, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP. • Experience working with Federal customers.Discover all that's possible with Yoh.
