Informatics Systems Specialist (DI)
The Informatics Systems Specialist works with members of the hospital community to analyze the informational needs of regulations and Diagnostic Imaging (DI) applications and to apply new and existing applications to best meet these needs. Prepares logic and flow routines, develops, tests, and implements programs, systems and applications as necessary. Monitors interface of clinical and billing systems. Responsible for building, maintaining, and upgrading systems utilizing a comprehensive understanding of registration and computer application technology. Works in conjunction with Information Services (IS), Fiscal, Health Information Management and other departments to carry out duties, and acts as the liaison for the department. Associates degree required, Bachelors preferred, in Computer Science or related area with one to three years experience in healthcare, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer programming language and report writing capability desirable. Database and project management experience preferred. Solid analytical and problem solving skills, excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Hospital admissions, insurance or billing experience preferred.
