This technical position requires hands-on capabilities. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, monitoring and the administration of Informatica PowerCenter for our organization. You will be directly responsible for ensuring a stable and reliable environment including performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, load balancing and failover planning. You will need to work closely with the system administrators and database administrators to monitor and tune performance, track and manage system usage and patterns, forecast system growth needs, coordinate releases, manage system events and report to management on opportunities to further automate and optimize our systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting existing Informatica programs, in addition to developing new ETL programs as needed to contribute to the other aspects of the business intelligence team. You will provide expert guidance and mentor a group of developers in their programming activities, as well as serve as the focal point for all Informatica related issues. Responsibilities • Provide lead and administration support for all components of Informatica • Responsible for setting up security, groups and roles as well as defining development standards and reviewing scripts to ensure they comply to guidelines • Will act as coordination point for promoting jobs between all environments • Work with the system administrators, database administrators and developers to support test and production Informatica servers including daily administration, configuration management, monitoring, tuning and tool automation • Resolve problems in areas of performance, availability, access and other issues • Works closely with the business intelligence project managers • Participate in data modeling, design and metadata documentation sessions • Prepare estimates for design, coding and testing • Prepare technical specifications • Perform impact analysis to existing programs • Help development teams perform testing and debugging of programs • Modify existing ETL programs and write new programs as needed Qualifications • 2 or 4 year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or completion of computer technical school • 5+ years experience as developer and administrator in Informatica PowerCenter • Informatica lifecycle implementation experience • Minimum 2 to 3 years writing SQL and PL/SQL programs • Minimum 2 to 3 years of Data Warehouse/Data Mart experience • Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling • Strong experience putting together and delivering technical presentations • Ability to develop creative solutions to address complex automation problems • Ability to understand and translate business needs into technical solutions • Previous experience as a technical lead and strong coaching skills • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities • Knowledge of modeling tools such as Erwin is a plus • Strong experience diagnosing problems and troubleshooting production issues • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools such as Cognos preferred
