Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Wichita Data Center Network and Security Environment. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of: switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection, and VPN devices. This person must carry a cell phone and be on-call. This is a senior-level Network position responsible for network infrastructure improvements to Enterprise Class networks. This position provides analysis, design, and implementation of network upgrades in the client's Enterprise network
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Conduct detailed site network assessments and prepare network design proposals. Develop and execute network upgrade implementation plans, including equipment procurement, change scheduling, and logistics.
Analyze performance, reliability, and security of critical network areas.
Maintain network current state documentation and diagrams.
Essential Skills Required:
Experience with TCP/IP and associated protocols.
Knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF, and BGP.
Experience maintaining and configuring Cisco routers and switches using both CatOS and IOS. Also Juniper routers.
Knowledge of VLANs, PVLANs, trunking, and spanning tree protocol.
Knowledge of Nortel and Avaya telephony support.
Experience with hardware load balancing - foundry required
Experience with VOIP and Wireless Networking - foundry required
Experience creating and supporting site to site and client VPNs. Using Cisco VPN Concentrators, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Netscreen firewalls.
Expertise maintaining and configuring firewalls (CheckPoint, Cisco PIX , Netscreen) Required
Experience with Network Intrusion Detection tools such as Dragon, Snort, ISS RealSecure & Tipping Point.
Experience with Network tools; Infinistream, Solarwinds Orion, NetQoS
Cisco CCNP / CCIE certifications desired.
Minimum eight years experience in networking.
Data center network design and support.
Intermediate cable plant skills will be required
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems. Also have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients as well as with internal teams. Work will be at the Data Center with limited remote work capabilities.
