IT SOX Analyst
***CONTRACT POSITION w/ BENEFITS*** RESPONSIBILITIES: - Learn and understand the company's IT needs and challenges with an emphasis on business processes, policies & procedures, self-governance practices and SOX regulatory obligations. - Demonstrate expertise in audit standards (e.g. ISO 17799, GLBA, CISP, SOX 404, SAS70, CobiT), processes, and techniques and apply these skills to assist IT PMO team through comprehensive and effective IT audits. - Execute the audit process in accordance with professional and company standards within a wide variety of computing environments. - Document audit/test results and prepare reports based on these test results for submission to the IT SOX PMO, using judgement when recommending improvements in controls, policies and procedures, and/or for further effectiveness and efficiency. - Effectively evaluate audit results, weighing the relevancy, accuracy, and perspective of conclusions against the accumulated audit evidence. Document relevant facts and evidence to support audit testing and conclusions in a way that other reviewers can understand the auditor's logic and methods. - Apply internal controls to technology processes and appropriately assess the risks of ineffective or mission control practices. - Understand the financial, operational, and compliance risks which affect information systems design, modification and processing activities; demonstrate the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate those risks; and develop recommendations which are appropriate, realistic and cost-effective. - Complete work assignments independently as part of a team project. Be able to complete work with limited instructions, yet know when to seek guidance from supervising staff when circumstances warrant. - Exhibit creativity and innovation in recommending improvements to departmental audit practices and processes. REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA degree or equivalent. Sarbanes-Oxley experience required. Proficient in communicating effectively both verbal and through written material. Able to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) are required. Strong technology skills including a minimum of 4 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: systems and infrastructure lifecycle management; IT service delivery and support; protection of information assets and/or security configuration. 2+ years of IT audit experience highly desirable. Solid understanding of the following is preferred: IS internal control standards and Information Security best practices (e.g. CobiT, ISO 17799, ITIL); Database management systems (DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server); Telecommunications; PC's, LAN, and WAN network architectures; Operations system security architectures (RACF, Windows, Unix); ERP systems (SAP); Directory Services (Novell NDS, Microsoft Active Directory). Flexible and adaptable. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Driven and motivated to get results; take initiative; follows through on deliverables. Professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA preferred.
