Position Description:

IT PLANNING ANALYST INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY The Information Technology Enterprise Planning Organization has an opening for an IT Planning Analyst. Qualifications: The following are required or preferred unless specifically stated:Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems or related degree or combination of education and experience including 3 years experience as a Business Analyst, or Business Process EngineerKnowledge of business process and/or expertise in IT planning functions Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Business case development, ROI and cost benefit analysis, strategic planning, business process modeling techniques, requirements elicitationKnowledge of industry best practices, general research, knowledge of internal business process and applications, as well as external vendor optionsKnowledge of basic financial modeling techniques associated with IT planning and budgeting.Demonstrated experience in utilizing facilitation and brainstorming techniquesDemonstrated experience and skills should include one or more of the following; consulting skills, client relationship management, strategic planning, business analysisTechnical knowledge should include the use of all MS Office toolsBasic familiarity with a variety of technical environments such as mainframe (MVS/TSO), distributed systems (UNIX, NT) and web-based systems. Programming/Development experience in these environments is a plusExcellent communications skills (written and oral), customer service skills and problem solving skillsExcellent skills for developing and delivering presentations that are logical, to the point, and serve to answer key questions of interest to our internal customers.Able to organize and prioritize job tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentHigh degree of initiative and sense of urgencyKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Collaborate and build relationships with Business Stakeholders and IT Program Manager(s) in order to understand the business strategies, goals, drivers, opportunities and needs and managing these needs through the planning processWork on multiple, simultaneous efforts of which he/she will apply their applicable analysis and system functionality backgroundBuild financial model from the various parts of the IT organization by collaborating with IT Finance and other parts of the IT organization. Create enterprise views of the data to provide financial insight to leaders within the organization. Partner with other groups within IT and business units to think, plan and innovate by:Developing strong business casesDeveloping strong benefits statements and vehicles for tracking benefitsAssist in coordinating costing with development team while breaking out expense and capital spendHelp to obtain necessary fundingSeeking out process improvementsUnderstanding application architecture and ability for reuseCreatively structure data, technical pictures, and IT architecture drawings for use in presentations to business and IT executivesInteract with internal planning systems to collect the data needed to create information that is needed create insights for business and IT executives.Assist in creating an enterprise wide roadmap and business process documentation
