General Description:
We are looking for someone who has excellent organization, true reliability and accountability, superior communication skills, ability to work under pressure and a driven, positive attitude. The main focus of the Operations Engineer will be to identify opportunities for troubleshooting automation and simplification. This position is a highly visible one and will make a huge difference in the success of our IT department. We need a real Operations Engineer who is professional and who has all the technical skills along with true customer service mentality: The position also requires the ability to lead and mentor the other members of the Operations Team, work closely with the IT Operations Manager and other areas of the IT Department.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Operational Performance Management and Efficiency- Utilize tools and procedures that enable the real-time monitoring of the company's major platforms and telecommunications network. Assist with the development of processes and procedures, including problem notification an resolution that encompasses all daily/nightly processing jobs and ensures that such jobs are completed in a timely an accurate manner. Recommend, develop, and implement enhancements that improve operational performance.

Collaboration- Effectively communicate within the department the objectives of the organization as they pertain to service desk, disaster recovery, performance management, and access controls as directed by the Manager of IT Operations. Participate in the necessary training and maintenance of knowledge required to allow the organization to lead the industry in technology and innovation.

Service Desk- Direct and resolve 2nd and 3rd tier support for operational and service desk incidents. Demonstrate ability to document technical solutions and improve work processes according to best practices.

Disaster/IT Business Recovery- Develop, plan and execute bi-annual disaster recovery testing of the company's backup, recovery and restore processes. Report results accordingly to management or committees for review.

IT Data Access Controls- Administer access controls to the company's information systems according to procedures and authorizations established by the company.

Testing and Implementation- Develop processes and procedures to ensure the successful implementation of software applications and technology implementations. Assist with operational testing, documentation, and resolve issues prior to deployment into a production environment.

Management Reporting- Work closely with the team to properly report system performance, service level achievements for changes and service desk requests, and key statistics on system availability and reliability.

Position Requirements:
* Knowledge of and experience with the technologies and systems used by the company, with particular emphasis on Microsoft enterprise solutions and IBM servers and workstations. At least 5-7years progressive experiences and training in these technologies.

* At least 5 years experience in a data center environment utilizing optimization and monitoring tools to identify maximum efficiency. Operational experience with enterprise-class Microsoft Client-Server and SQL business applications required.

* Bachelor's degree in related field required. Formal training and education in computer science/technology field.

* MCDBA or MCTS (Technical Specialist) or SQL Server 2005 are desired. MCP or CompTIA certifications are preferred.

* Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

* Proven ability to both develop and follow processes and procedures in order to resolve business impacting problems.

* Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions according to policies and procedures of the organization.

* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in a fast paced environment while maintaining high quality work standards.
