IT Buyer / Procurement

IT Buyer6 - 7 Month ContractBaltimore, MD  Negotiates and executes contracts and purchases in accordance with Client Supply Chain Standards and processes. Performs supply chain functions including supplier management, process definition, procurement procedure improvements, and reporting. • Collaborates cross functionally to develop procurement strategy; negotiates contract prices, terms, and conditions. • Creates Purchase Orders in the Oracle procurement system. • Manages contract administration, buying and vendor related services. • Monitors and evaluates vendor performance and provides input to the Supplier Management Process. • General understanding of strategic sourcing and procurement concepts, practices and procedures and the ability to quickly learn new disciplines. • General understanding of budget process and IT performance management systems • Enhances technical and professional knowledge and skills thorough the use of trade journals, seminars, courses, etc. • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines while providing complete and accurate work product to multiple business units. • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable while responding to multiple demands and timelines. • Ability to draw upon experience and knowledge to skillfully perform procurement requirements effectively. • Ability to act as a trusted guide for IT customers during contract negotiations and analysis. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within the organization and collaborate with technical and non-technical professionals and internal clients to understand business processes and determine requirements. • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp the complexities of disparate lines of business. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience • Minimum of 2 years related negotiation, sourcing, or sales experience.
