Brief Position Description:Â
Â
Looking for a chance to prove your IT business development skills and become an expert in both the public and private sectors? The US Department of Defense (DOD) will spend over $500 billion in 2009 and we are looking for an experienced and savvy consultant to sell high-end, web-based applications and IT Services for the DOD, other government agencies, and private sector clients.Â
Â
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Â
·        Create marketing and sales plans that include economic, governmental, and technological considerations.
·        Conduct market analysis and report findings on market size, segmentation, competition, trends, etc.
·        Conduct SWOT analysis that provides strategic guidance for the sales and marketing efforts of the firm.
·        Implement business generation tactics and tools and follow through on contract opportunities.
·        Establish, build, and maintain positive relationships with C-level and high G-level decision makers, program and contract managers.
·        Effectively utilize higher-level CRM system to document sales activities, mine data and develop pipeline.
·        Develop and close contracts from $300k to $5 million.
·        Travel requirement approximately 10 – 25%.

Knowledge, Technical and Soft Skills:
Â
·        Documentable or proven sales success with government or sub-vendor contracts.
·        Ability to fulfill their responsibilities and achieve monthly sales goals without oversight.
·        Professional with strong understanding of contract writing, statements of objectives/work, etc.
·        Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills with ability to resolve complex problems.
·        Strong verbal and persuasive communication skills with ability to communicate positively and professionally.Â
·        Mature, responsible, fun personality being comfortable alone on the road or working in a team environment.
·        Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education and Experience:
Â
·        Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, Business Administration, or Computer Sciences.
·        5+ years IT-based consultative sales in web-based applications and Professional Services.
