DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing and performing IT tasks associated with financial processing, also responsible for managing the relationship between internal users and the IT department, accountable for production support, trouble-shooting, and automation of the mission critical operational data store. Must have experience in SQL Development, and Stored Procedures. Must have a good working knowledge of, and the ability to administer, financial software applications. Analyzes requirements for software program/application development, enhancements, and/or modifications, which could include further defining requirements, conducting research to help write requirements, and creating requirement documents. Provides estimates for enhancements to current systems. Provides support and routine maintenance for software programs/applications once they are elevated/implemented to production environments, which could include providing on-call support and monitoring of platforms if necessary; understanding issues and working towards resolutions; and communicating issues to other groups/teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology, or related discipline, which could include Computer Science, Information Systems (IS) or Management Information Systems (MIS). In lieu of a degree, at least three years of related work experience analyzing, designing/developing, programming, and supporting software programs/applications in client server or web environments.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including levels of management.
· The ability to work in a team oriented environment.
· Good organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously.
· The ability to support department goals that align with current and future Company objectives and initiatives.
· Good negotiation skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for basic to moderately complex issues, escalating those that require management involvement, when necessary.
· Must be able to work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Minimum 3 to 4 years analyzing, and developing/maintaining applications using TSQL and stored procedures
· Experience working in a Microsoft environment (SQL Server, XP, Visual Studio x.x)
· Experience in the financial industry highly desired
· Experience with job automation and FTP
DESIRED SKILLS
· Experience with the Latitude software application highly desirable
· SQL Reporting Services highly desired
· Programming in C#.NET
· Excellent knowledge of MS-SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition or MS-SQL 2005
· Knowledge of physical database design principles
· Knowledge of database archival, backup and recovery principles and skills
· Database performance tuning, optimizations and troubleshooting.
· Knowledge and use of Business Intelligence
