Hub Accounting Manager

North America Shared Business Services - Finance ( NA SBSF) provides accounting and reporting oversight, strategic planning and services to Philips businesses in Canada, Mexico and the United States. The NA SBSF was created to provide a single point of contact to the businesses in their interaction with the Shared Services Center in Chennai, India, to manage the performance of the shared service centers, to harmonize the processes in scope and to optimize the cost of service delivery through process improvements. This position will support to the Northwest SBSF Financial Reporting Manager, its Customers (primarily Philips USA West Coast operating units) reporting directly to the Northwest SBSF Financial Reporting Manager. Shared Business Services Finance (Northwest Hub), currently providing accounting and finance support to Philips locations in Bothell, WA; Snoqualmie, WA; and Foster City, CA Your Responsibilities: - Actively support the NW SBSF Financial Reporting Manager to realize the SBSF Management Agenda- Support the NW SBSF Financial Reporting Manager in the relationship management role between the Customer sites and the Shared Services Center in Chennai, India- Assist in the coordination of financial reporting and month-end close processes- Prepare and maintain all SOX documentation of processes and procedures as they relate to General Ledger and Reporting- Support and coordinate process harmonization efforts across the various Philips businesses/locations- Supervise and manage the staff on all day to day matters- Train and develop support staff- Support and assist in coordination of related external and/or internal audits- Review account reconciliations and journal entries- Prepare and/or oversee legal and statutory reporting- Monitor Philips corporate finance directives for applicability and ensure they are appropriately implemented Your Profile: Qualifications:- BA or BS degree in Accounting, CPA a plus- Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting or finance- Previous management experience- Strong accounting knowledge with specific emphasis on transactional integrity and control- Strong knowledge of SAP - ERP processes and procedures including internal controls- MS Office (Excel, Word, Access) applications knowledge- Demonstrated ability to communicate and to collaborate across functionsPersonal Skills: - Excellent verbal & written communication skills- Ability to work as a team player and team leader in cross-functional teams- Ability to leverage people and competencies- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment with people from different cultures- Well structured with strong analytical/problem solving skills- Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives- Change management oriented (embrace challenges)- Enthusiastic, proactive, self-directed and high-energy leader- Willing to travel as necessary Contacts: Philips Notes Philips is an equal opportunity employer.
