Head of Supply Chain / Procurement

Job Title: Head of Supply Chain / Procurement Job Code: BCD07081000  Job Description:   Position will be reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain Operations for the Broadcast Communications Division of Harris.   Responsible for Procurement department with 5+ direct reports.   Responsible for 80 Million in spend.   Work with Global Suppliers.   Responsible for the development and implementation for the company’s procurement function   Manages group that procures material for products of medium to high complexity for electronics manufacturing   Accountable for inventory and managing to targets   Creates and delivers supply strategies including supply base rationalization   Develop characteristics of preferred suppliers including recognition of risk profiles   Develop mid-term action plans for specific business areas.   Manage the sourcing, tender process, supplier selection and negotiation of contracts that achieve optimum commercial terms   Directly own and manage relationships with significant suppliers, supporting line managers in their day-to-day communications   Maintain an awareness of latest buying techniques and theories, developing their application within the business   Accountable for the development and management of Vendor Partnerships   Deliver processes, tools and expertise to support line management in achieving continuous improvement through all processes   Monitors activities against department objectives and submits performance reports to management   Identifies process improvements and facilitates implementation   Mentors and supports staff Qualifications: BS Degree in business or technical related field and 10+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience with a minimum of 5 years in Electronic Component sourcing or purchasing. Manufacturing operations experience required. Supplier KanBan, JIT experience required. Strong computer skills in Windows Office Suite are required. Preferred Additional Skills: CPIM/CPM or APICS highly desirable. Excellent communication and leadership skills. The ability to foster a co-operative team-based culture. A proven track record of delivering outstanding commercial results. A business-driven approach. High level analytical skills.
