HR Generalist

Position summary: In this position, you will be the HR representative to a branch sales office, providing general HR, recruiting, and office management support. Responsibilities: General HR Responsibilities: · Partner with GM and other managers to understand branch HR needs and drive delivery of solutions to meet those needso Areas of involvement may include:§ Employment§ Compensation and rewards§ Workforce planning§ Performance assessment· Serve as liaison for the HR department to coordinate the HR processes, record keeping and procedures with the managers and employees of the branch office.· Develop, write and implement policies and procedures; write other communications as needed.· Develop, generate and analyze reports as needed.· Review contracts and other complex documents and assure compliance.· Assume recordkeeping responsibilities as required.· Coordinate and administer all HR processes, such as new hire on-boarding, promotions, terminations, compliance tracking, training, leaves and unemployment claims related to branch office.· Participate in the communication and training of all HR policies and programs.· Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations for branch office.· Monitor branch compliance with all Speakeasy polices and procedures.· Work with managers and employees to address employee relations issues, ensuring a balance in representing all parties' interests.· Serve as primary contact to coordinate and manage new hire and termination process for branch which may include involvement with activities such as PC set up, phone/voicemail, supplies, space planning, etc.· Provide management coaching to build leadership capabilities within teams.· Provide career guidance to employees and partner with management to ensure employees are growing in their career aspirations. · Research and respond to questions from employees on benefits and other HR-related areas.· Carry out general branch office management responsibilities as required· Carry out other assignments as required. Recruiting Responsibilities: · Under the direction of the Recruiting Manager, recruit, or be involved in recruiting process, for specific positions as required. o Areas of involvement may include: § Working closely with hiring managers to clarify job specifications and requirements; developing job descriptions§ Reviewing resumes, sourcing and screening candidates; representing Speakeasy to job candidates in a positive and professional way§ Overseeing scheduling of interviews, obtaining feedback from interviews§ Checking references, preparing offer letters, presenting and negotiating offers§ Providing timely feedback to internal and external candidates§ Alerting HR management to potential legal issues with candidates§ Informing departments of new hires§ Overseeing maintenance of recruiting logs; generating reports as requested§ Organizing and storing resumes to assure compliance with document retention laws, using the company’s applicant tracking system or other systems as appropriate§ Mentoring hiring managers on legally sound recruiting practices; helping managers develop effective interview questions; conducting training of managers on recruiting and interviewing techniques as needed Skills and experience required: · Three to five years progressively responsible HR experience, specifically in a Generalist or Business Partner capacity.· One to two years of recruiting experience; experience in recruiting sales representatives preferred.· Solid generalist background in functional areas of HR including employee relations, recruiting, benefits, general HR administration and recordkeeping and retention,· Ability to organize and evaluate branch office production and procedures and create processes to manage work flow.· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear policies around complex subjects; ability to work confidently with staff at all levels within an organization.· Ability to diagnose problems and recommend and implement appropriate solutions.· Solid analytical skills.· Strong team philosophy; proven ability to work positively, collaboratively and professionally within a team and across an organization.· Proven intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Outlook and Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point.· Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.· Ability to work discreetly with highly confidential information.· Strong organizational skills; ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities at a branch office location.· Bachelor’s degree preferred; PHR certification a plus.
