HPUX Hardware Service 119078
Provide on call hardware support for HP midrange servers, workstations and peripherals. Be available to receive calls for service, via pager, 24 hours a day-7 days a week. Contact customers to schedule repair time. Independently identify and repair/replace defective hardware and/or component(s). Follow up with customers to assure successful repair and satisfaction. Provide scheduled time and material service calls as required. Maintain field inventory including stocked spares for field repairs and company owned office equipment. Complete required administrative duties including but not limited to Customer Service reports, Expense reports and quarterly Inventory report.A minimum of three years experience hardware service experience, preferably on Unix or other proprietary mid-range hardware platform. Advanced trouble shooting skills, a working knowledge of computer hardware, a basic understanding of electronics as well as HP -UX and MPE/iX operating systems. Strong interpersonal communication skills required due to extensive customer and interdepartmental interaction. A clean DMV with no major violations for the past three years. A reliable car, preferably, less than five (5) years old with less than 75K miles.
