San Mateo County seeks an experienced GroupWise Network Administrator to provide centralized email system administration and networking operating systems support for all departments Countywide. Responsibilities include performing technical analysis; implementing and documenting hardware and software specification, configuration development, installation and operation of the County's servers and applications; providing messaging and system and application security, capacity planning, development, deployment and support of key application components of a collaborative environment; monitoring information systems policies and controls to ensure data security, confidentiality and integrity to meet the County's security and regulatory compliance requirements; and acting as a liaison with customers and vendors.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and considerable experience supporting a Novell environment, including eDirectory on a Netware, Windows or Linux platform, OES or Zenworks and experience in GroupWise design, implementation and administration of version 6.5 or above, including a variety of third party tools that connect with GroupWise, NotifyLink, Guinevere and other similar tools or equivalent experience with a comparable email system. Experience with Tumbleweed Email Firewall is desired.
