Job Category:Communication Services Primary Location:USA-VA: VIRGINIA-ARLINGTONSchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:RegularJob Posting: 2008-08-20Description: The candidate selected for this position will perform technical publications/graphics support for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) System Engineering & Integration directorate (MDA/DEE) as part of the Quick Response Team (QRT), and will assist other graphic designers in the development of their products. The QRT is responsible for preparing presentation materials and papers for Senior Executive Service and General Officer/Flag Officer personnel at the Missile Defense Agency in Arlington, VA. The candidate must have the ability to prepare white papers, Reports to Congress, technical reports, and graphics presentations, as required. Essential Job Functions Develops and designs moderately complex visual communications such as marketing materials, presentations, emblems, brochures and advertisements, DVD or Web product demonstrations, print and Web advertisements; communicates quality of products to client through visual media. Communicates and works with marketing staff to develop moderately complex visual media concepts for products and services in order to create client interest. Determines document layout options, costs, timeframes, etc. on moderately complex projects by interfacing with technical writers and information developers; determines graphic design, web layout, and/or print production elements for each item of a product. Creates print specifications on smaller projects and coordinates the transfer of source files from the publications group to the print vendor. Receives bids for contracted work; ensures contracted work meets quality standards. The candidate must possess at least a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Top Secret preferred.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design or related field preferred Four or more years of graphic design experience Experience working with graphic design concepts and equipment Experience working with printing preparation Experience working with pre-press coordination Experience working with graphic software Other Qualifications Good communication skills Personal computer and business solutions software skills Creative thinking and design skills Ability to work in a team environment Ability to handle multiple tasks and switch between tasks quickly Willingness to travel Ability to complete self-checks and to peer-review other graphics designers' products is required Ability to work in a fast paced environment under short time constraints, work flexible hours in times of heavy workloads, and interface effectively with system engineering team members and representatives of various MDA offices Experience with MDA and/or Ballistic Missile Defense System programs a plusRemote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
