Manages the planning, implementation and development of complex design projects in areas of print and multimedia for communications and collateral in support of conferences, trade shows, marketing collateral and advertising to meet business objectives and company goals. Manages budgets for visual marketing projects; estimates costs such as freelance artists and materials in order to ensure adherence to cost guidelines. Oversees the overall design for publications, collateral and multimedia marketing, such as print, product packaging, booth graphics and video production to deliver a consistent and appropriate corporate message in printed and electronic materials. Ensures accurate representation of company logo and brand name to convey desired corporate identity. Reviews bids, arranges purchase orders and evaluates the quality of vendor service to ensure acquisitions of needed materials for graphic designers. Interfaces with marketing staff to develop visual media concepts; works in conjunction with clients, writers, photographers, and vendors to resolve issues and complete projects. Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines. Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary. Leads team of 12 graphics designers in HuntsvilleBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design or related field preferred Nine or more years of graphic design experience Five or more years of supervisory experience included Experience working with graphic design and multi-media tools, equipment and techniques Experience working with company practices, communications, and policies Experience working with software application packages to create visual communication vehicles Other Qualifications Current Secret Clearance Strong creating thinking and designing skills Strong planning and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with internal and external audiences Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills Good human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employees Strong ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Secret Create Success
