Global SAP Basis Manager

, acq This position will provide leadership and supervision to the assigned SAP Basis technology team.  This position performs technical work related to the planning, implementation and ongoing maintenance of application systems needed to run business critical applications at an enterprise level and acts as a project/team leader in these areas.  This position will be the highest level of technical support for a particular application system. This position will serve much like a liason between management and less experienced Basis Administrators.  This position will counsel, consult and mentor others regarding application systems.  This position will work closely with management to develop and implement enterprise-wide short and long-range application system strategies.  This position will assist management with budget development, contract management, software evaluation and acquistion and standards development.  This position will also have SAP Basis skills at a senior level with 5 or more years of experience.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Serve as the last level of support for all of application systems technical issues.  Position requires expert level of experience in application administration will enable complex problem resolution and advanced levels of support. Work across functional support areas to tune system for optimal performance. Involved with the evaluation of enterprise-wide application systems and develop detailed analysis reports and recommendations for business critical systems. Involved with the planning, acquisition, management and implementations of systems and application software.  This will done in coordination with technical and business. Works with management for Sarbanes Oxley regulation compliance for SAP policy/process development and audit control enforcement. Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between  the assigned start and end times for work. Performs such individual assignments as management may direct. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Maintain contact with professional associations, standard boards and other companies; keep abreast of technology changes and research emerging technologies.  Maintain strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal, writing skills and excellent team participation.  Good leadership skills for both internal and external activities.



KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum applied SAP Basis Administration of 5+ years, strong working knowledge fo 2 or more operating systems:  Windows 2000-2003, Unix, strong working knowledge of 2 or more relational databases:  SQL Serverk, DB2, Oracle or DB2/UDB.  A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and work experience.  Ability to pick up new technologies and grow personal skills set with technologies.  Assist in coordinating technology issues between users and Information Services. May require travel (limited), ability to work flexible hours (i.e. long days and holidays.
