The Global Portfolio Executive (GPE) function is responsible for the long-term strategy and go-to-market planning for a portfolio of services and solutions. The GPE Global Portfolio Director works with Regional Portfolio Directors and Regional Go-to-Market Directors to ensure that the global business plan for a particular global portfolio of offerings is being achieved and that client and analyst expectations of the offering portfolio of services are being met. Global Portfolio Director, Applications Portfolio Management Services is responsible for the Applications Portfolio Management Services Portfolio, which includes Analysis & Assessment, Portfolio Roadmap, Roadmap Implementation, and Roadmap Management. The Global Portfolio Director provides the vision for service lifecycle management of their global portfolio of offerings, and is responsible for conceptualizing the long-term (3 to 5 year) business plan and portfolio roadmap. The Global Portfolio Director recommends new offerings for investment and incubation as well as the refinement, retirement or re-launch of offerings. By leading the ideation process around new offerings, the Global Portfolio Director is responsible to identifying marketable business solutions and services that solve client business problems. As part of the ideation and long-term strategic planning process, the Global Portfolio Director liaises with Regional Portfolio Directors to assess progress against the business plan, such as CSC account plan forecasts and the in-year adoption and sale of offerings within the portfolio. In addition, the Global Portfolio Director will leverage other internal and market intelligence coming from Global Analysts. This role is responsible for the content of a global service catalog available to CSC clients within the regions. This Global Portfolio Director -- Reviews market sizing information and analyst reports to identify market trends impacting the long-term effectiveness of the portfolio. Assesses operational and financial performance metrics in the regions against internal and industry benchmarks; recommends global refinement, retirement or re-launch strategies. Assembles Win/Loss analysis criteria and processes; reviews and presents findings on Win/Loss Analyses globally. Identifies distinctive competencies and develops strategies to drive them into CSC offerings. Collaborates with other Global Portfolio Directors to identify market leading opportunities to differentiate CSC as a market leader. Defines and operates within the governance model for the management of the GOS Global Solutions and Services portfolio. Executes strategies emerging from relevant global strategic programs. Recommends business aligned incentive plans that drive promotion of the portfolio within the business and support regional business growth. Essential Job Functions:Technology: Stays abreast of current trends in the Outsourcing marketplace in order to understand and assess the business viability of service offerings. Understands the impact of services on client's business and mines trends within the outsourcing market to drive long-term strategy. People: Interacts effectively with executive management within CSC and client organizations. Collaborates with appropriate team members to analyze broad and service-specific market trends, issues, and the business needs of potential clients. Serves as a catalyst for driving a culture of reuse. Assists in activities that seek to improve service improvements - operational and financial. Approves requests for modifications to global service catalog items driven by new business requests and otherwise approve deviations from existing catalog items. Encourages and supports regional portfolio managers in the delivery of business objectives. Customer: Ensures that strong working relationships are developed with key customers internal and external to the team. Assists in the development and ongoing relationships with vendors and partners. Provides commercial and business expertise in relation to service offerings for key proposals with global customers. Makes recommendations from a business perspective whether to invest in/develop specific bespoke customer related service offerings. Business: Expertise on trends in vertical markets and horizontal functional areas related to the global portfolio. Identifies trends/gaps in marketplace and resultant needs and focuses on service offerings that provide tangible business value to clients. Responsible for evaluating concepts (such as market timing, compelling event, and problem identification). Identifies business requirements and ensures delivered service offerings meet long-term performance expectations of CSC and clients. With Regional Portfolio Managers, generates business cases, and makes recommendations for the creation, modification and retirement of service offerings. Responsible for bringing to bear portfolio management resources onto analyst relations activities. Responsible for working with Regional Service Centers and the Global Enterprise Service Management in benchmarking global services versus CSC competitors. Financial: Produces business cases for service offerings and presents the investment case to senior executives within the solutions governance framework. Works with the Service Centers, Global Analysts and Pricing to determine a benchmark target prices for service offerings.
