Balance Technology Group is a well respected and solidly established web development consultancy that excels in solving complex IT issues for Association, commercial and trade show clients. Our solutions include website design and development, intranets/extranets, interactive marketing campaigns, multimedia, social networking strategies, CRM, CMS, AMS, custom application development and database engineering.

Who we are looking for

We are currently looking for a full-time (35-40 hours per week) PHP programmer to join to our team of technology professionals. The ideal candidate has a broad understanding of the web and web technologies and can perform tasks related to the architecture and development of web applications, open source content management systems, database and the implementation of ecommerce solutions.

Our ideal candidate will be able to assist our project managers in outlining client requirements  and ensuring a timely and quality implementation.  You will need to have a competent understanding of all aspects of planning and delivering a web based solution including support, system architecture and development, current technologies and the client‘s industry.  You will be well versed in all aspects of the web application development process and can make contributions to many parts of a project (helping with estimates, requirements definition, database design, programming, scripting).


You will work closely with the Balance Technology Group team to schedule and deploy resources to client sites as necessary. Our ideal candidate will have: 4 years experience building solutions in a LAMP environment Experience with open source CMS, CRM and AMS platforms (we use both Joomla and Drupal actively) Proven track record of developing robust, easy-to-use, PHP web applications Strong attention to detail; excellent analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to apply creative thinking to technology issues Curiosity to learn about new web technologies and approaches Hands-on experience with Joomla and/or Drupal a huge plus

What we require from you Develop and test PHP web applications and open source solutions An interest in Social Media tools and applications Follow industry standard software development techniques and practices. Provide time lines, estimates and status for development artifacts and project milestones. Participate in collaborative software design and project planning sessions. Provide appropriate documentation both in program code and user documentation. Follow industry standard testing (unit and system) practices. Work both independently and collaboratively with team members and demonstrate innovation and accountability of assigned responsibilities. Create detailed  requirements documents and create prototypes to illustrate the process.
