Expert SQL Server DBA
We are looking for a Production SQL Server Database Analyst for our client located in downtown, Chicago, IL - near Union Station. This is a full time position (not contract).
You must consider yourself an expert, senior DBA, qualified and willing to support the Production Environment with no (or limited) help. This is a critical position for the client and getting the right individual is very important.
Job Objectives:
This position will design, develop, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the production, development and testing of SQL databases and data models.
The focus for this position will be to support the Production Environment 24/7. The company is a great company to work for with great benefits!
Responsibilities:
-Managing the multiple databases ensuring that all servers are operational and all of the scheduled jobs are successfully completed.
-Backup and recovery, sizing, security, replication, database optimization, schema creation and maintenance as well as SQL tuning and code optimization.
-Executing performance tuning and upgrading the servers to the latest MS SQL server releases
Experience & Skills:
-Preferred BS in computer Science or equivalent work experience including at least three years of solid database administration experience with MS SQL Server 7.0/2000/2005.
-Experience in using the advanced features of MS SQL Server including:
*Replication
*Proficiency with Database Transformation Services (SSIS) and other ETL tools.
*Disaster Recovery Techniques
*Setting up alerts, operators and jobs
*Experience with high capacity database or transaction systems as well as DBA tools
*Knowledge of Transact SQL coding, stored procedures and triggers
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Compensation: 75,000 to 90,000 (plus bonus) based on experience
