ERP Project Manager

Currently we are seeking a Senior ERP Project Manager to work onsite at one of our esteemed client located in Montclair, NJ.


 

The detailed job description is as below;

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plan, organize, direct and control the overall ERP project implementation.

* Coordinate all activities, resources and schedules required for effective, efficient and accurate implementation of the project.

* Plans, administers, and controls systems analysis and design active in order to produce effective business process specifications for the implementation of the ERP system.

* Interviews and consults with user representatives in order to define their business needs and participates in defining functional requirements and conducting technical evaluations on required systems.

* Supervise business analysts and user groups in the documentation and analysis of business process requirements as it relates to the new administrative system. Lead group, resolve conflict and escalate as required.  Ensure that user groups stay on track and deliver requested material on time.

* Develop project plan and manage deliverables.

* Consults with staff from appropriate units to ensure development of documentary controls to avoid misinterpretations and poorly defined requirements when systems become operational.

* Supervises preparation of detailed systems design reports including constraints and assumptions influencing the design approach taken, system flow charts, development and conversion cost estimates, manpower and time estimates, record, output and input summaries, system test specifications, conversion requirements, system controls and audit trails, and other related information.

* Shares responsibility with the project team and other responsible parties for providing technical advice and assistance to supervisors to ensure proper interfacing of major systems and subsystems and development of common data repositories wherever possible.

* Plans and schedules internal personnel, consultants and temporary staffing needs for large and/or complex systems implementations.

* Maintain all records of project status, changes, resources and other control records.

* Ensure proper project management and cost control by reviewing actual costs charged to the project versus budgeted costs.

* Supervise the preparation of detailed conversion and post- conversion evaluations including description of support given evaluation of adequacy, statement of documentation level, and comparison of planned versus actual costs and performance.


* Will be required to learn and/or understand how to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.

* Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact well at all levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.

* Ability to develop strong relationships with business/functional stakeholders; and an ability to represent IT value in a business setting.

* Ability to remove performance barriers and deliver under challenging circumstances.
* Self Starter/high degree of initiative in complex work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in ERP software system implementation.

Three (3) years of experience in project management of ERP software implementations.


Experienced and knowledgeable on Peoplesoft Financial, HR and Student Admin.

PMI or PMP certification desired.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of system hardware and software and their application to specific operating requirements.

* Knowledge of agency programs, policies and objectives.

* Ability to supervise and to take a leading part in defining the needs and the functional requirements of applications and software.

* Ability to prepare and supervise the preparation of detailed systems reports including systems flow charts, conversion cost estimates, manpower and cost estimates, record, output and input summaries, system test specifications conversion requirements, system controls and audit trails, and other related information.

* Ability to organize and direct conversion to desired applications and operating system platforms.

* Ability to participate in conferences and present results to Executive Committee members and User Groups.

* Ability to prepare clear, sound, and informative statistical, financial, and other factual reports containing findings conclusions and recommendations.

* Ability to supervise the maintenance of essential records and files.
