E-Commerce Architect

As an integral part of the solution delivery team, the Usability Architect creates experiences via a user-centered process that includes the research and development of goal and task models, usage scenarios & patterns, and elegant solutions for interaction, navigation, and labeling. The primary objective of this position is to accurately balance user needs with business drivers.

The Architect is responsible for the overall user experience design and implementation of a project by coordinating regularly with teammates and the client users to ensure the product remains true to the user experience design throughout the product development life cycle. Candidate must have an extensive understanding of innovative graphical user interface design, information design, interaction design, and in particular, the design of complex frameworks for dynamic, database-driven content and functionality.

The ideal candidate for this role must possess highly effective communication skills for use with cross-discipline delivery teams as well as client interaction.

 

Candidate should be prepared to show representative projects and documentation.

·  Participate in all phases of scoping, architecting, and design

·  Own the overall user experience of web-enabled solutions and support an environment of mutual respect and co-operation between all roles involved, be they client, technical, end-users or management

·  Translate specific use cases and business rules into a recommended approach

·  Develop high-level and/or detailed user scenarios, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas

·  Consult with technical leads to determine feasibility of the recommended approach

·  Produce the detailed functional specifications required to implement design

·  Participate in the execution of usability studies and make constructive and reasonable suggestions for change

Support the application and testing teams during construction and testing.

Educational attainment equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Interaction Design, HCI, Communications, Computer Science or Engineering. Experience in transactional, e-commerce and web-enabled business solutions are preferred. Candidate with 3+ years of experience is preferred.

·  Complete understanding of constraints of designing for the web, including HTML, Web browser capabilities across multiple platforms, and new technologies

·  Proficiency with Visio, OmniGraffle or other flow charting tools as well as the MS Office suite
