DESCRIPTION Modis is currently seeking qualified CCNP Network Security Engineers for several exciting contract opportunities with our client in Washington, DC. These positions are expected to start within the next 2-3 weeks and last for an initial duration of 6 months.  There is a very high likelihood of contract extension and /or full time conversion.  This is a prestigious client with excellent career growth opportunity!  Qualified individuals are invited to apply for immediate consideration.  PROJECT DESCRIPTION  The CCNP Network Engineer will be responsible for advising and consulting in the high-end design, installation and configuration of network infrastructure elements for government customer locations in the Washington, DC metro area. Candidates will be providing expertise during the development, testing and implementation phases for new network technologies, including upgrades to the network backbone infrastructure (MPLS) and Network Security elements (PIX / ASA/ CheckPoint / NetScreen / IDS / IPS) The ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge of high-end enterprise network elements including (but not limited to): Cisco ASA 5520/5525 Firewalls, Cisco Director Class switches (9000+), Cisco 65xx Catalyst Switches, DWDM/ Fibre channel technologies.  Experience with Novell is highly preferred. The ideal candidate must also have Senior-level consulting skills, including advising and providing analysis and technical documentation.  Previous experience with Certification & Accreditation experience is a must. ***PLEASE NOTE: US Government Security Clearance at the DoD Secret level is highly preferred.  Candidates who do not have an active security clearance must be able to pass a government background check and have the eligibility obtain an interim security clearance immediately upon confirmation.   REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum Bachelors or 4 year college degree with a minimum of 5 years IT experience - CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Certification at a minimum- Expert Cisco ASA 5520/5525 experience, preferably with exposure to Cisco IDS modules- Strong experience with Cisco Director Class and Catalyst switches (9000 / 6509)- Expert DWDM, Sonet, Optical network knowledge and/or Fibre Channel technologies - Strong experience with Certification and Accreditation documentation  ***PLEASE NOTE: US Government Security Clearance at the DoD Secret level is highly preferred.  Candidates who do not have an active security clearance must be able to pass a government background check and have the eligibility obtain an interim security clearance immediately upon confirmation.    ABOUT MODIS  Modis is one of the world's largest and most respected providers of Information Technology Resource Management (ITRM) services and solutions.
