Distrib Sys Ops, Sr Specialist - 5884

Description:ResponsibilitiesMonitors & directs system changes to ensure good completion minimizing down time, & routing traffic from affected areas when necessary. Coordinate problem resolution with Systems Administrators, developers, DBAs and other on-call support. Responds to research requests regarding customer issues, scheduled Control-M jobs, questions, data recovery, data backups, and other related issues. May perform advanced systems administration, network, & security functions. Maintains documentation on ticket system to record problem resolution steps, updates customer contacts and maintains training and technical reference materials. Participates in ensuring that customer requests via the ticketing system are managed to closure.Complies with all standard internal controls and processes. Participates and follows all processes as defined by Alliance Data.Delivers results in support of achieving the organizations Service Level Agreements.Assist directing work-flow for functional team and across all shifts.Provide training through mentoring of functional team or others as instructed.Assist in verifying all documentation is accurate and maintained.Ensure all established policies and procedures are maintained.Continually work to improve all department procedures to positively affect efficiencies and service levels.Assist in project management as instructed by Lead or Manager, including ongoing acquisition support.Assist in communication initiatives for functional team and across all shifts.Assist with all Critical Situations and serve as key resource to customers as directed by Lead and/or Manager.About the OpportunityPosition is responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting of mission critical, high availability, distributed systems in the Corporate Command Center Operations area. This position will also be analyzing error messages and perform the appropriate escalation or procedure required for resolution of Distributed system issures.Qualifications:Associate degree or equivalent industry experience 5 to 7 years of distributed systems operations experience.Experience with computer based tools and products, CA Enterprise Manager and MS Suite preferred.Advanced knowledge of Protocol Standards, networks, and host connections.
