Director of Network Operations
Our client is searching for an experienced Director of Network Operations. This is a permanent position with excellent benefits and salary. Qualified candidates should send a resume and salary requirements to: Rich.fountain@modis.com Description:The Director of Network Operations is responsible for directing the internal and external resources necessary to operate and maintain Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) infrastructure. The incumbent also manages the relationship with the Network Operations Center. The position requires the leadership and management of a geographically dispersed workforce of technicians and managers. The director will interface externally with customers and contractors. The position is responsible for preventive maintenance, repair, and testing of both indoor and outdoor DAS systems. The director will work strategically with senior management to integrate DAS operations within corporate wide systems to create an efficient workforce that can respond to any routine or emergency situation that requires service restoration of customer or American Tower systems. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Manages the ongoing operations and maintenance of all in-building systems through contracted and internal staff. Ensures timely completion of routine maintenance activities. Ensures system performance through ongoing testing of in-building systems. Develops and maintains standardized processes and procedures for operations and maintenance of indoor and outdoor distributed antenna systems. Works with customers to collectively solve system issues and continuously improve service levels. Prepares annual operations budgets. Manages and tracks financial performance against budget. Supports and manages the ongoing operations of company owned assets as related to DAS. Provide senior management with solid recommendations for continual operations improvements based on cost benefit analysis Produces value-added employee results through recruiting, selection, orientation, training, coaching, and counseling; communicating values; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs, supervises, and manages the performance of: Manager of Network Operations, Telemetry Engineer, RF Technician(s), and Senior RF Technician(s). QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent organizational skills Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently Demonstrated leadership, operations, and managerial experience in a senior level management position Excellent verbal and written communications skills Working knowledge of GSM, CDMA, and UMTS in an operational environment Experience and expertise in wireless network operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance Familiarity with Network Operations Center procedures and operations EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field 10 to 15 years experience in RF engineering, wireless systems and/or general engineering and operations. Knowledge of Outside Plant fiber maintenance and operations 10 years operations experience with wireless carrier desired. Some knowledge of indoor cable and fiber distribution desired. Distributed Antenna System experience desired. 5 to 10 years experience in managing technical personnel. ENVIRONMENT: 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel required (approximately 25%) in support of the position’s responsibilities.
