JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director, Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance, has the responsibility for defining, governing, and executing Crowley’s Enterprise Architecture strategy. This includes the definition of enterprise architecture (EA) strategy and standards, the evaluation of key initiatives per EA standards, the guidance of key initiatives in order to formulate architectural solutions, the creation and support of enterprise application software frameworks, support for shared application and middleware components, and architectural support for key IT initiatives.
Play a leadership role in the definition and execution of Crowley’s Enterprise Architecture Strategy by supporting the Business Solutions Delivery teams as key stakeholders. Lead, influence and assist in the creation of a SOA. Define the overall Enterprise Architecture Roadmap, seek approval of the roadmap by stakeholders, and ensure that value is obtained incrementally as the roadmap is executed.
Build and lead a diversified team with expertise in the development of application architectures, middleware and enterprise components, network and application security, and data/information management. Influence Architecture and Technology direction for key capital initiatives through the role of Enterprise Architecture; provide Architecture Advisement for critical systems initiatives. Influence in the definition of Software Architecture and conduct Architecture Reviews for critical Crowley initiatives.
Assist in the definition and governance of IT Strategy as it relates to alignment to the business, evaluation of emerging technologies, Crowley’s enterprise architecture models and key IT initiatives. Introduce innovative architecture and technology solutions to drive IT simplification, component reuse, improved efficiencies and reduction/control of IT costs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
A minimum of 7 years in the Enterprise Architecture domain with a proven track record in defining a SOA-based roadmap and setting direction for enterprise software components and frameworks. A solid understanding of SOA technologies, tools, and governance.
Experience in all aspects of software development life cycle using the RUP methodology (use case driven iterative process). Knowledge of ITIL concepts and techniques desired. A broad knowledge of the entire technology stack, application, data, application infrastructure, and business architecture.
Experience in using open source framework or developing frameworks for web-based applications preferred.
A strong grasp of technology components such as BPMS, Rules based programming techniques, ESB, Message Brokers, Messaging, EAI, Imaging, etc. Experience in development of Web Services, WSDL, UDDI/WSRR, SOAP, XML; Knowledge of BPEL.
Clear understanding of various architecture domains/discipline, such as software, data, security, network, application infrastructure, Middleware/Integration, etc. The communication skills and persuasion necessary to be an effective proponent of the value of enterprise software components.
Experience in working with distributed development teams; offshore, onshore and near-shore.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent business experience.
