Director, Data Center Operations and Information Technology

Quaero is looking to add a strong leader to manage our hosted marketing solutions operations as well as support the entire company’s IT needs.  We are looking for a leader who can streamline our processes, increase the reliability and security of our clients’ customer information systems as well provide long range IT planning while providing leadership and growth opportunities for our people.

 

Principal Responsibilities

The Director of Hosted Operations and IT will lead and manage Quaero’s Hosted Marketing Solutions Operations and IT teams in a fast paced, exciting and client-focused environment. Responsibilities include: managing an operational environment where multiple clients are supported through multiple applications and databases in a secure environment with a commitment to data security and integrity as well as customer privacy; financial planning at a departmental level and managing tightly to budgets;  leading the organization in industry standard security certification processes;  monitoring legal and regulatory requirements for data auditing, security, and retention and implementing processes to comply; Researching and proposing cost effective technical solutions to address business challenges;    applying innovative approaches to solving design and technical issues and managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.  



Specific responsibilities:

 

·  Responsible for all aspects of Quaero’s hosted marketing infrastructure and the operations team that supports our clients.

·  Responsible for all aspects of Quaero’s corporate infrastructure and the help-desk/system administration team that supports our internal staff.

·  Oversight includes, but is not limited to, phone and email systems, database administration, hardware procurement, system administration & security policies, network administration, Disaster Recovery, and helpdesk functions & procedures.

·  Provide vision, leadership, and rapid deployment oversight to ensure the company's technology keeps pace with evolving market and business demands.

·  Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the infrastructure systems for the business.

·  Manage enterprise infrastructure development and support to budget, schedule, scope, and quality guidelines.

·  Manage service provider relationships including ensuring SLAs are met, billing, issue escalation, vendor selection, negotiation, prioritization, and ongoing coordination

·  Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with service and equipment providers

·  Manage a 24x7 datacenter

·  Establish standards, processes, and policies for corporate wide infrastructure and operations

·  Plan for future growth & additional services, while controlling cost

·  Manage IT Assets & Procurement functions to ensure effective, efficient use of IT resources

·  Maintain and communicate consistent measures and metrics ensuring transparency into team and service level performance.

·  Proactively manage service levels with all customers and drive team accountability.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·  Exceptional leadership, prioritization, and project management/time management skills.

·  Proficient problem analysis, measurement, and process methodology skills.

·  Advanced knowledge of contract negotiation and vendor management.

·  Must be familiar with large-scale database technology, ETL applications with strong knowledge of Windows XP and Linux operating systems .

·  Strong leadership and people management skills, including coaching and mentoring.

·  Demonstrated experience in both strategic & operational management, information systems & experience managing top quality service resource team working under deadlines with extremely high quality standards.

·  Prior experience managing both Administrative & Operational areas within an IT organization.

·  Must be a proven self-starter with a high level of initiative, high sense of urgency, and able to plan and carry out work independently.

·  Experience in data management, systems implementation, analysis & redesign of business processes highly desired.

·  Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

·  Minimum 7 years IT support experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.

·  Expertise with Windows 2000/2003, Exchange 2003 and related technologies.

·  Expertise with telecommunications systems, including PBX, voice mail and messaging systems including Blackberry Enterprise.

·  Must have proven experience and technical leadership in relational database administration and support. 

·  Knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP and related services (DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc.).

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Commensurate with experience and includes base salary and bonus
