Desktop Server Administrator

 

International organization, growing at a rapid rate, looking for a qualified Desktop Server Administrator with knowledge and experience to work in the IT Department.

 

Summary – Provide primary technical support  for day to day operations  and  resolve computer systems problems including related equipment. (50% Desktop Support, and 50% Server Administration).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

 Implement and troubleshoot information systems and technology solutions in support of business needs. Manage vendor relations to ensure service level agreements are met and equipment is maintained Provide first line in-house and remote support to internal end users within GYR and end users located abroad for when system failures occur to resolve issues Provide on-the-spot recommendations for fixes to bring the LAN/WAN production components back on-line quickly and efficiently Respond to any and all incoming customer service tickets via phone or email Performs network maintenance routinely and system upgrades to LAN/WAN Maintain proper documentation of processes and procedures Installation, maintenance and support of existing CAT 6 structured cabling

·  Must have Undergraduate degree, preferably in an industry related field, equivalent work experience or a combination of both

·  Minimum requirement of (5) five years of  solid Windows server and Desktop support experience in a team oriented environment including 2-3 years hands on experience with Citrix Presentation Server and 1-2 years experience with Dell Desktops and Laptops, Networking basics (DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP), Printers and Print Servers

·  1-2 years experience with Symantec Backup Exec, SAN technologies, WebSense  preferred and 2 years experience Cisco,T1, Tx, ATM routing protocols preferred and prefer knowledge of Exchange 2003, WSUS, Symantec AV, Blackberry ES.

·  Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems (XP) and Microsoft Office and a solid understanding of a Microsoft Windows 2003 network, Active Directory Services and group policy.

·  Ability to work independently and  in a team environment

·  Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills a must

·  Excellent communication (both verbal and written)

·  Self motivated, strong planning, organization and time management skills a must

·  Ability to learn and adapt quickly when technology upgrades are made

·  Travel of up to 25% required

·  On-call participation in 24/7 support as needed; must be available to work occasional nights/weekends to support system upgrades and maintenance;

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

MCSE required, CCNA preferred but not required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -Must be physically able to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time, walking, climbing ladders and stairs.
