Deployment Engineer

Assigned to a specific release, the Engineer will work with the team from Requirements gathering through deployment to the field and ongoing support (each release cycle will run 20-24 months). Skills Required: IBM Mainframe experience to include: ISPF, Z/OS, DB2, CICS, RACF, MQ Series IBM Mainframe, OS/390 operating system, large DB2 database, system utilities, ISPF, SDSF Documented hands-on experience debugging OS/390 C++ Programs Use Rational Rose, ClearCase, ClearQuest Experience using Endevor CM software Ability to use a design/development inspection process for finding errors Knowledge of IBM, OEM, and industry standard application development methodoligies Experience with CICS transaction processing, MQ Series messaging, significant experience writing/scheduling jobs in JCL Knowledge of C++ would be a plus Work to be performed includes: Serves as focal point for communicating between all participating organizations to coordinate CM activities, pilot initialization, deployment, integration issues, and problem identification for resolution. Handles the day-to-day issues, coordinates activities with the development and delivery team. Assists with the staffing of the production Help Desk Provide input into deployment documentation and ensures that all deliverables are assembled and included. Assures that maintenance processes are put in place as well as interfaces back to the delivery organization to get fixes made through the defect reporting, tracking, and resolution process. Provides support through the various stages of testing. Works with the customer to ensure the proper management of logistics for installation and deployment. Participates in or provides input for regular status meetings for the team, technical, and project levels. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Must be able to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) Clearence (U.S. citizen or current Green card required) Minimum seven (7) yrs of development experience.
