Defense Division Director

We have an immediate need for an experienced Division Director for our Defense Division. This key senior management position reports to a Vice President and has tremendous CEO visibility and an enormous potential for upward career growth. Ultimately, we believe that the best candidate for this role is a 4-7 year retired U.S. military officer (O4 or above) with a background in Logistics and/or Acquisitions.  Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for 2 outcomes-the successful delivery of current service engagements and the growth of your division.
• You will be surrounded by a collaborative team of internal business development professionals, a capable proposal development center, all supported by well defined business development and capture processes ; but in the end you will have sole responsibility for the revenue generation and growth of your division.
• You will use your extensive DoD network to discover new opportunities and open doors. Once opened, you will be responsible for creating customer solutions, developing value propositions based upon customer technical and business requirements, and directing/supporting proposal development activities.
• You will be expected to close one to two multi-year opportunities during your first year, with each opportunity engaging 5-20 people.
• You will typically work multiple concurrent opportunities. Once captured, you will hand over the day to day responsibility to your Project Management staff and move on to securing your next opportunity, all the while maintaining customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and quality delivery throughout the entire life cycle of the deal and providing oversight to your delivery team.
• You will be entirely responsible for a team of direct reports. As your division grows, so will your team. You will be accountable for maintaining appropriate staff levels, hiring new associates, performance management, coaching and mentoring, skill and career development, and providing consistent, clear and meaningful direction to ensure successful team results.
• You will work with your team to be sure that revenue and profit contributions are in line with business plans and budgets. This includes cost management, risk analysis, proposal pricing support, and overhead management.
• You will be called upon to educate and train your team, peers and organization about your expertise in the areas of logistics and/or acquisitions.
• You will be expected to lead your team at all times, by exemplifying the culture and behaviors that lead to success at Citizant. You will work the extra hours, go the extra mile, roll up your sleeves, and get your hands dirty. You will help program teams that encounter road blocks. You will collaborate with your peers and your managers across lines of business to help the company reach its objectives. You will expect the same from your direct reports and your team and you will not accept anything less.

• Smart, hard working, and honest
• Logistics and/or Acquisitions background
• Strategic and tactical business planning skills
• Experience with creating and managing annual budgets
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the dedication and desire to lead your own business unit

• Strong analytical skills with ability to make critical assessments and logical arguments.
• Ability to identify problems, set priorities and manage your team accordingly
