Job Category:Data and Databases Primary Location:USA-MD: MARYLAND-FT MEADESchedule:Full-time Job Type:Standard Employee Status:Regular No Job Posting: 2008-08-15Description: **Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and be willing to sit for a Polygraph** Essential Job Functions: Analyzes the needs and requirements of users of existing and proposed database systems and develops technical, structural and organizational specifications to include access methods, access time, job control language, statistical methodologies, device allocation, validation checks, protection and security. Designs, develops, implements, loads and maintains database for internal and external users/clients. Creates standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database Programs and writes codes. Develops data import and export routines to automate data loading. Builds windows screens and reports. Participates in quality assurance activities by testing standard design applications and in the development of test application code in client server environments to ensure that software conforms to build management practices. Develops and maintains the tables and fields provided in the database to ensure accurate and error-free programming.***** IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HOLD AN ACTIVE TS/SCI TO BE CONSIDERED *****Serve as the subject matter expert and developer on database and application development project teams. In this capacity, the individual will participate in the customer requirement definition phase, provide design recommendations, and conduct the database application development. The individual will evaluate design and implementation of existing database and application systems to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of deployed systems. Participate in project test activities as required. Work with the Project Manager and other key team members to gather requirements, design and implement applications in alignment with project schedule. Incorporate best practices, standards and processes as well as draw on team expertise and other NSA resources to provide timely, technically sound recommendations that meet customer requirements. Conduct demonstrations, briefings and status reports as required. Work Experience and Skills Required: Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas, with experience obtained within the last twelve years: Eight years experience in technical program management and/or system development team lead. Eight years experience developing systems using the following concepts: 1. Database Development 2. Software engineering/Development Eight (8) years experience developing database software using Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase with the following experience: 1. Database design 2. Data Modeling Eight (8) years experience in requirement analysis/generation and developing systems and software architectures.Candidate must also have working experience installing and configuring Oracle Application and Database servers in a multi-tiered environment (development/production). Experience with leading development efforts and all phases of the development life cycle. Knowledge of Public Key technologies (e.g. Public Key based authentication mechanisms) for applications, enabling, row and column security, Virtual Private Databases, and dynamically loading data to an Oracle database from XML. Must also be experienced in scripting languages. Must demonstrate teaming ability. **Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and be willing to sit for a Polygraph**Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, software engineering, or related field preferred Six or more years of database engineering, design or development experience Experience working with relational data modeling Experience working with data warehousing Experience working with relational databases such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, etc. Experience working with database development methodologies, design and implementation Other Qualifications Analytical and problem solving skills Communication skills Personal computer and business solutions software skills Skills in using a Windows development language, programming or scripting such as VBScript, COM, COM+, XML, Java, Perl, etc. Ability to comprehend business unit/client needs regarding database development/modification Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:TS/SCI Create Success
