Database Analyst

A Database Analyst position in SCANA Services is available.  This position requires the ability to design, implement, and maintain the logical and physical data structures in multiple DBMS’s, to ensure integration with corporate-wide global database structure. The successful candidate must be able to install, implement, and maintain database management system software as well as implement new vendor technologies and have the ability to lead and develop team projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of the database team.  Also must be able to develop and coordinate disaster recovery and contingency plans for all corporate databases and provide input in the design and development of new database structures and participate in resolving ongoing performance issues. Must be knowledgeable in database security and have the ability to implement corporate wide secure data structures as well as have the ability to handle 24 X 7 on-call responsibilities with minimal assistance. 

Must possess good oral and written communication skills, strong customer service, and excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently when needed. Microsoft SQL Server experience is required. Knowledge of Oracle is a plus.

 

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 2+ years of job related experience or an Associate’s Degree and 6+ years of job related experience or a High School Diploma and 10+ years of job related experience is required.  Previous experience with Microsoft SQL Server is also required.  Please apply online at www.scana.com no later than 8/17/08.
