Job Description:

This position will be responsible for the support of new and existing Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server Database servers and applications.

 

Duties will include software installation and patch management, performing database maintenance, user security and profile maintenance, technical support and supporting on-going application development.

 

This position will also work closely with other areas of the Information Systems group, particularly with Network Services and Applications Development.

 

Other:

Some off-hours work is required. This position will be very dynamic and require a person that is able to work in a very team-oriented environment yet take ownership of the responsibilities of this position.

 

Experience - External:

Core Requirements:

- 3+ years Oracle Database Administrator experience

- Experience installing and supporting Oracle on windows/Linux

- Experience working with Oracle Apps 11i environment

- Strong knowledge of SQL/PLSQL

- Knowledge of Oracle 9i & 10g

- Experience Tuning and troubleshooting Oracle instances

- Experience configuring and maintaining highly scalable

- Oracle environments

- Knowledge in Oracle Backup/Recovery Methodologies and Strategies

- Unix Scripting

- Experience writing/developing reports using oracle reports/tools

 

Additional Requirements:

- 1+ year SQL Server Database Administrator experience

- Microsoft Windows/Solaris/Linux Administration experience

- 2+ years Technical Support Experience

 

Non Technical:

- Excellent Organizational Skills, including the ability to manage time and multiple tasks. Excellent written and oral

 

Skills:

- Excellent Troubleshooting Skills

- Experience in SDLC methodologies

- Ability to multi-task

 

Education:

College degree or equivalent work experience
