Data Modeler

Are you an experienced data modeler with a solid background in development practices?  If so, put your talents in being analytical and strategic to use in an environment that will provide you with new and exciting challenges.  Join the Circuit City team as a Data Modeler! As a Data Modeler, you will join the team that is focused on building out the Enterprise Data Warehouse. You will work on a day-to-day basis with project teams and delivery teams to capture data requirements to build the data model.  Responsibilities include: Entity Relationship Diagrams(ERD) Data integrity rule definitions Meta data definitions and maintenance Logical and Physical data models Change control over the database environment As a data modeler, you will also be responsible for providing the data designs that will provide a blue print for application development. In addition, your role will include acting as the gate keeper for the data changes that are introduced by the development teams. You will also hold responsibility for incorporating purchased data models and integrating our models with these best of class models.  The successful candidates will be strong communicators with a solid background in development practices, who are completely familiar with database design techniques and supporting a very large database environment. We are looking for flexible people who can convert non technical business needs into data designs.  Technical Requirements: Experience with the following technologies is required: RDBMS Er/Win Data normalization and rationalizationExperience with the following technologies is desired: ETL technologies Netezza Cognos Micro StrategyAs we continue to transform our organization to better meet the needs of our customers, there are many opportunities to contribute to the future success of Circuit City.
